"Does lemon juice help pimples, spots and zits?" is a
question I'm asked fairly frequently.
In answer, I can only repeat to you what my
great-grandmother used to say to me:
"The juice of a
lemon taken before breakfast is worth its weight in platinum ... taken
before lunch it's worth its weight in gold ... and before dinner it's
worth its weight in silver."
So a quick answer to your question "Does lemon juice
help pimples?" would be: "Yes, it does ... and it's beneficial for a
whole load of other problems, too."
You may not have enough money to buy platinum, gold or
silver ... but you can probably afford a lemon. So, let's look at what
you can do with this lemon, and how it will help you ...

lemon juice - internally
First of all, lemons are packed chock-a-block full of
amazing vitamin
C - powerful anti-oxidant and healer, without which your body
would not be able to heal and repair itself.
So, vitamin
C will help with many things wrong with your body - and that
includes pimples.
It's also crucial for the formation of collagen, which
you need to maintain the structure of your skin and keep it
young-looking.
What's more, lemon juice is a natural cleanser and
bleach, meaning it will gently cleanse your insides, removing
impurities. This is why a lemon juice detox is so
popular - not to be confused with the lemon juice diet
which I, personally, do not really favor.
Removing impurities inside your body is going to help
get rid of pimples on the outside.
So, take the daily lemon juice cleanse
...
... drink the juice of one lemon each day - preferably
before breakfast. Add warm water to the juice, making it into a nice,
long, refreshing drink - preferably with no sugar added.
lemon juice - externally
Lemon juice is also a natural astringent, antiseptic,
and pore reducer, so will help combat pimples and fight oily skin if
you use it externally, too ...
1. When making your daily lemon
drink, keep back the pulp and spread over any spots, black heads, oily
areas. Leave for 20 minutes or so, then splash off with cold water.
2. Rub the insides of the lemon
halves that remain from making your lemon drink over any oily/spotty
areas on your skin to help tighten pores.
3. Soak a cotton ball with lemon
juice and rub over oily areas when going to bed. Rinse off with cold
water in the morning.
Where I live in Spain, lemons are still fairly cheap, so
I buy a
kilo (just over 2 pounds in weight) of wonderfully fresh-smelling
lemons each week from my local fruit-and-veg market (see photo at top
of page).
But lemons are readily-available in most parts of the
world so,
wherever you live, spend a little less on commercial skin care products
or make-up, and a little more on lemons.
Use them regularly - both internally and externally -
and, over a period of time, you'll benefit one-hundred-fold.
