handcare tips

Day-after-day, your poor hands are exposed to much harsher elements than your face ... tons of washing-up liquid, washing powder, powerful cleaners, bleach ... and that's before you leave the house.

So, first-and-foremost, always protect your hands with rubber gloves when doing the washing up or other household chores.

Better still, get other family members to do the chores ... let them wear the rubber gloves, while you put your feet up, treat yourself to a manicure, and massage some cream into your poor hands!

And remember to keep hand cream readily-available in your kitchen - or anywhere else you do a lot of household chores - and use regularly throughout the day.

simple handcare pick-me-ups

One quick way of immediately and cheaply improving the condition of your hands, is to buy a tub of vaseline/petroleum jelly, and massage a fair amount into your hands before going to bed.

Leave on all night, covering your hands with a light pair of cotton gloves (or even socks), to protect your sheets.

By the time morning arrives, you'll discover your hands are remarkably improved.

Another fast and affordable "pick-me-up" for hands is to mix two parts almond/olive oil with one part sea salt or sugar, massage in for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

This gentle, hydrating exfoliant works wonders.
