face cream with botox?

does a face cream with botox exist?... is
botox effective?... what does it actually do?...
Occasionally, visitors ask me if a face
cream with botox exists.
Is there in fact a cream with botox on the market?
Until recently, I would have said there wasn't one.
You'd find several face creams claiming to be better
than botox injections, and others claiming to be equally
effective.
Most of these tended to be either
moisturizers
and face creams with peptides, which you can learn more about here.
Or, wrinkle-freezing
creams, which you can read about here.
There are also extremely expensive custom-made creams,
which are based on the results of your DNA analysis.
But, none of these creams actually contained botox and,
because botox inections worked at your nerve level, and not skin level,
it was thought a face cream containing botox was unlikely ...
mainly because scientists thought botox was unable to pass through your
skin.
Recently though, researchers discovered botox could pass
through the skin if attached to a nanoparticle in
an emulsion.
What's more, this nanoemulsion helps the botox toxin
retain its stability, meaning it could last up to two years.
In other words, face creams with botox are not far round
the corner ... we'll keep you informed.
Meanwhile ...
- what is botox?
- how is it used?
- is it effective?
- is botox safe?
- what are its drawbacks?
Let's look at answers to these questions ...
what is botox?
Botox is the purified protein form of a toxin which
causes the food poisoning botulism - if taken orally, and in large
amounts.
how is botox used?
Injected in small doses into certain muscles, botox
blocks the chemical signals that make your muscles contract.
In this way, your skin looks flatter, smoother and less
wrinkled.
Botox does not alter your muscles in any way. It just
prevents them from contracting for a certain period of time, according
to the quantity that has been injected.
New injections are required after 3-6 months, otherwise
the wrinkles that have been diminished will gradually return to their
initial state.
is botox effective?
Botox definitely minimizes the appearance of wrinkles,
showing significant results in various areas of your face and neck ...
Frown lines on the bridge of your nose and between your
eyebrows ... so-called crow’s-feet at the corners of your eyes ...
forehead creases ... and also the thick bands on your neck.
However, it's less effective in certain areas around the
mouth, because your muscles there are needed for talking and eating ...
freezing them interferes with this.
Unfortunately, botox can’t reverse the damage caused by
sun rays.
As well as reducing wrinkles caused by underlying muscle
activity, small doses of botox can also prevent new wrinkles from
forming.
It's also used to raise drooping lip corners, bringing a
beautiful smile to a formerly "sour" mouth.
And it can relax lip muscles, producing fuller lips ...
improve your eye area by raising lateral eyebrows and "opening" your
eyes.
The shape of your nostrils and the tip of your nose can
be improved with botox injections, as can your chin, neck and any lines
on your upper chest.
In other words, botox solves a wide range of facial
wrinkle problems, without the necessity of radical intervention like
plastic surgery.
is botox safe?
In spite of being a purified protein derived from
bacteria, botox is a very safe substance.
Used cosmetically, it will not harm you, as the quantity
injected into facial muscles is hundreds of times weaker than a harmful
dose would be.
Having said that, you MUST make sure
the person advising you and injecting it is a fully-qualified
professional.
what are the drawbacks?
- you have to undergo more
injections within about six months
- you must ensure they're carried
out by an experienced doctor
- slight pain, bruising, and
redness occasionally occur
- some patients experience
headaches and nausea for a few hours
- rubbing the injected area is
not advised
In spite of these drawbacks, more and more women - and
men - receive botox treatment nowadays, the majority being well-pleased
with the results, and happy that no pain or recuperation is involved.
It's true that a face cream with botox
would be much easier to use ... so let's hope there'll be a face
cream with botox on the market soon!
